What We Treat

Convergence Insufficiency

Difficulty in using the two eyes together as a team. If left untreated, this is known to cause double vision, headaches, eye strain, poor reading skills, and poor handwriting.

Eye Tracking Difficulties

A tendency for the eyes to move in a chaotic and unorganized fashion, especially when reading or following moving objects. This can cause skipping and repeating while reading, reduced reading speed and comprehension, difficulty copying from the board and poor handwriting skills.

Amblyopia

Reduced vision in one or both of the eyes due to a large difference in prescriptions and/or an eye turn. If left untreated, this can cause significantly reduced vision, poor depth perception and other reading challenges.

Poor Depth Perception

When the eyes are not working together well, the patient will have difficulty with their depth perception. This is known to cause trouble with sports performance, driving/parking, reading and writing.

Strabismus

An eye turn or drift either inwards or outwards, so that the eyes are not pointing at the same target at the same time. If left untreated, this can cause double vision, poor depth perception and reduced sports performance.

Visual Processing Difficulties

The brain's ability to take the visual input and come up with the correct output, making sense of what we see. These skills are important for things such as, memory, comprehension, problem solving, puzzles, and hand eye coordination.
